"De inspiratie voor mijn papier reliëfs haal ik uit de natuur, met de focus op de manier van waarnemen. De structuur van alle mogelijke elementen die wij om ons heen kunnen waarnemen vormen naast, hoe de mens gewend is te kijken, de basis voor de vlakverdelingen. De perceptie van het perspectief, de opbouw van enkele elementen tot samen een hele vorm, het ritmische lijnenspel wat altijd in beweging is als de toeschouwer het aandachtig van alle kanten bekijkt en de wetenschap dat er zonder licht niets zichtbaar is zorgen er samen voor, dat de papierreliëfs intrigerende kunstwerken zijn. Door het altijd maar veranderende licht worden de papierreliëfs bovendien steeds weer 'opnieuw' vormgegeven. The artist is inspired by nature & natural forms, and focussed on ways of perception. The structure of all sorts of elements that we can perceive, form the basis of the way he divides the surface of his work. He plays with scales and proportions. For example, when walking on the beach and looking at an object like a shell, one can see the shell as a wonderful little tableau. But one can also take the object and look either inwards or outwards. One can imagine being tiny, standing on the shell and looking outwards to the big landscape around him. Or one can look at the shell itself as through a microscope and scan the construction of the surface.
De tentoonstelling wordt geopend op zondag 18 februari om 15.00 uur door de kunstenaar zelf, met een muzikale bijdrage door Mario Willemsen op Cajon.
